Steve Jobs on quality and other things

With Steve Jobs announcing his step down from the top of Apple the media is full of stories about him, his contributions, history and view of things.

This from the WSJ listing of favorite Steve jobs quotes:

When you’re a carpenter making a beautiful chest of drawers, you’re not going to use a piece of plywood on the back, even though it faces the wall and nobody will ever see it. You’ll know it’s there, so you’re going to use a beautiful piece of wood on the back. “I’m an optimist in the sense that I believe humans are noble and honorable, and some of them are really smart. I have a very optimistic view of individuals. There is much for us to continue learning from this iconic leader. I’m the Outsider and that’s what I think.
